ISON (Kim Eung-euk, CEO), a promising
hidden champion in Pohang, works in collaboration with the RIST (Research
Institute of Industrial Science & Technology).

They submitted the “development of steel
beam foundation of photovoltaic power generation structure and modular
construction” project, which was selected as the “2019 Research
Project” by the Steel & Convergence Technology Research Association. This project
began on the first of this month.

As this joint project was picked as the
2019 Research Project, it will receive a total of KRW 400 million research
funds from the Steel & Convergence Technology Research Association.

Kim Eung-euk, CEO of ISON, said that
“if this project succeeds, it is expected to take the “steel beam foundation
construction method” using POSCO’s corrosion-resistant steel (POSMac) a step
further. In particular, a modular construction method that constructs preassembled
structures with fixed sizes and photovoltaic modules by moving them to the
construction site is expected to open a new chapter for photovoltaic power
generation system installation.”

ISON also anticipates a KRW 50
billion increase in sales a year if related technologies are commercialized.
